When did you start drawing? As soon as the opposable thumb started working; we have art dated as far back as 1972... What's your background in artistic training and education? School of Hard Knocks (never went to college). Who where the first artists to influence you? Jack Kirby, George Perez, and John Byrne. Which artists influence you now? Alphonse Mucha, Norman Rockwell, Drew Struzan, Kevin Nowlan, Mike Mignola and Steve Rude. What comics do you currently read? HELLBOY is the only comic I read with zest and gusto. What software program do you use to color your art? Adobe Photoshop, exclusively. That's just 'cos it's all I know how to use... What are your three favorite movies? Casablanca, Star Wars, and Lawrence of Arabia. Hmm, lotta sand in my favorite movies... What are your three favorite books? DUNE (uh-oh - more sand), Shoeless Joe, A Princess of Mars What music do you like to listen to as you draw? Can't make it through the day without the Beatles. |
What was the first comic you bought or the one that had the most impact on you? FANTASTIC FOUR #81, where Crystal the Inhuman joins the FF to replace the expecting Sue Richards. Kirby and Sinnott sure could pound out some saucy little cupcakes when they put thier minds to it!
